Course Objective
This program is focused on French language learning in the morning and high level scientific courses in the afternoon. For the scientific course, students can chose between two themes : "Micro, Nano & Smart technology for industrial applications" and "AI in sciences: shaping innovation, exploring social impact".
Course Description
The Center for Applied Linguistics (CLA) of the Marie and Louis Pasteur University in Besançon has partnered with Campus France and the Graduate Schools of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (EIPHI, TRANSBIO and INTHERAPI) to provide a new program of the French + Sciences in Besançon, Dijon and Belfort.

Participant’s profiles
Student in Bachelor’s studies (from any scientific field)
Requirements:
French level: none (beginners to B2)
English level: B2
CEFR : Common Reference levels
Course content: 120 hours (30 hrs / week)
• Learn or develop communication skills in French
• Discover how faculties and training and research units work in France, especially at the Marie and Louis Pasteur university
• Discover French scientific culture and entrepreneurial dynamism in the fields of Micro, Nano & Smart technology
• Explore the cultural assets of a French ‘region’ (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) and its surrounding areas
Working language: English
Organization of the course:
Every week, from Monday to Friday:
• 3 hours of French every morning
• 3 hours of scientific and technical activities every afternoon
Assessment
Student performance will depend on 3 points:
– Quality of the student’s weekly journal and subsequent progress report
– Degree of participation in program activities
– Progress in French as a foreign language.
The program will be providing 16 credits (within transcript and certificate)
